Nestlé Invests In Brazilian Dairy But Growth Dampened By Lack Of Local Milk Production

Food giant Nestlé has announced it will invest BRL163mn (US$97mn) to build a new dairy factory in Três Rios in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The plant will have capacity to produce 124,000 tonnes of milk products per year and focus on UHT and ready-to-drink sectors. The move underlines the significant scope for growth in the Brazilian dairy sector, which is to some extent limited by a lack of productivity within the underlying dairy
