Tiger Records Modest H1 Sales Growth

South Africa's Tiger Brands has reported a mere 1% year-on-year (y-o-y) H1 revenue growth to March 2010, proving caution to be very much the order of the day in South Africa, with unemployment remaining very high. Tiger is a big player in the South African fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) scene. Revenues compared to 2010 have in some cases not been helped by the strong rand which has led to price deflation in some commodities. The likes of Tiger have also had to sacrifice margins over the past few years to support promotional discounting
