Malaysians Consuming More Alcohol As Affluence Rises

Fuelled by growing purchasing power and a steady flow of tourist arrivals, alcoholic drink sales in Malaysia are forecast to increase by a compound annual average growth rate of 2.6% between 2011 and 2015. Over our five-year forecast period, we are particularly bullish on the growth prospects of the Malaysian wine sub-sector as sales accelerate off a lower base.
