Ebro Foods Registers Revenue Increase But Earnings Seeing Impact Of Rising Costs

Spain's largest food producer Ebro Foods (formerly Ebro Puleva) has registered an increase in sales and earnings for the first nine months of 2011. Over this period the firm's revenues increased by 5% to EUR1.31bn, while net profits from continuing operations was up by 16% to EUR93mn. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 4.5% due to the impact of rising durum wheat prices on its pasta operations and the cost of restructuring its German Birkel business.
