Starbucks Bolstered By Rising Domestic And EM Sales

US Coffee shop chain Starbucks has managed to defy the weak economic backdrop to report strong growth in both sales and earnings for its fiscal fourth quarter and full year. For the 12 months to October 2 2011 net revenues were up by 9% to US$11.7bn, while comparable store sales increased 8% thanks to a 6% increase in traffic and a 2% increase in the average amount purchased per transaction.
