Brands clearly wants to emulate its Chinese success in India as it plans to separate its Indian operations from its international business. The standalone Indian business will be called Yum Restaurants India. Yum's strategic move to spin off its Indian operations underscores its confidence in the Indian consumer growth story. With still a lot of room for growth in the Indian fast-food space, it would not be surprising that India could quickly emerge as a significant contributor to Yum's overall sales.
