Global Spirit Sales Continue To Defy Economic Backdrop

The latest results posted by Gruppo Campari and Remy Cointreau continue to highlight a global recovery within the spirits sector. For the six months to September 30 2011, Remy Cointreau registered sales growth of 10.9%, including organic sales growth of a hefty 18.1%. This meant that revenues came in at EUR474.9mn. Meanwhile, for the nine months to the end of September, Gruppo Campari registered an 11.5% increase in sales, which came in at EUR889.2mn, with organic growth of 10.5%.
