Embonor Revenues Up On Strong Demand But Profits Hit By Increased Costs
January 2012 | Company News AlertChile-based soft drink producer Coca-Cola Embonor has posted rising sales but falling profits for its latest financial year. In the 12 months to the end of December Embonor's volumes increased by 8.2% to reach 213.2mn cases while revenues increased by 11.2$ [--what is this?]to CLP224.3bn. However, profits were hit by increased costs, including sugar, plastic bottles, labour and freight distribution and the firm's net income fell by 1.9% to US$36.5mn while operating income was down 9% to US$43.3mn. The company's strong revenue growth is indicative of growing demand within its core markets - Chile (volumes up by 4.8% in 2011)
