Mixed Year For Greek Retailers
April 2006 | Company Finance AlertFor Dia, the Greek discount chain owned by French retail giant Carrefour, 2005 was a good year, as the company reported a net profit of EUR58.8mn (US$73mn). Turnover for the year was up to EUR354.7mn (US$440.8mn) against EUR303.2mn (US$376.5mn) in 2004. The company is looking to expand its store network to 459 stores by 2008 from the 401 it should have by the end of 2006.
