Aldi Ready For Portuguese Discount Battle

Europe's largest discounter Aldi is finally set to enter the competitive Portuguese retail sector after months of speculation linking the German firm with the market. Aldi is reportedly poised to open three stores, of between 500m² and 800m² in size, in the towns of Portimão, Alcantarilha and Olhão. Construction is also understood to be commencing in Caldas da Rainha, Moita, Palmela, Santiago and Odemira
