Bird Flu Fears Sends Lebanese Poultry Into Crisis

Lebanon's poultry market has been hit hard by fears of bird flu, as demand for chicken and eggs has slumped and prices have fallen by more than 50% since January despite the fact that no cases of avian flu have been reported. The government is insisting that Lebanese poultry is safe, yet farmers, restaurants, chicken feed producers, feed importers and poultry processors are all suffering due to this massive hit.
