Turning A Blind Eye To Alcohol In The Middle East

As anyone familiar with the Middle East is surely aware, alcohol production and consumption is restricted in many countries in the region. Alcohol is banned in Saudi Arabia, and the punishments for drinking alcohol are strictly applied. Alcoholic drinks are available in Bahrain, although they are chiefly sold in restaurants and hotels for consumption on site, and despite a ban on its sale to Muslims, Bahrain does a roaring trade in sales of alcohol to Saudis coming across the border. In the UAE, consumption of alcohol is officially banned outside of hotels and restaurants catering for the expatriate community. And
