Wal-Mart Finally Says Auf Wiedersehen
August 2006 | Company News AlertUS retail giant Wal-Mart has finally bowed to the competitive pressures of the German mass grocery retail (MGR) market and agreed to sell its 85-outlet-strong hypermarket business in the country to German market leader and multinational rival Metro AG. Subject to the receipt of anti-trust authority approval, Metro will rebrand the Wal-Mart superstores under its Real banner, thus boosting the size of its domestic network to over 620
