Tesco's Slovakia Takeover Odyssey Goes On
October 2006 | Company News AlertIn its first half-year in office, Slovakia's populist, left-leaning government, led by Prime Minister Robert Fico, has not quite chewed on the scenery as more pessimistic observers predicted. For instance, the government has not openly gone to war against the market share of foreign-owned mass grocery retailers (MGRs) as the Polish government has over the last 18 months or so.
