Arla Boosts Finnish Presence With Igman

Swedish-Danish dairy giant Arla Foods, one of the world's largest milk processors, has acquired a 30% stake in Finnish dairy company Ingman Foods Oy, with a three-year option to purchase the remaining to 70%. Under the deal, a new joint-venture (JV) company, Arla Ingman Oy, will be created in Finland, although the agreement will require clearance from EU competition authorities. The structure of the deal should protect Finnish dairy farmers from any near-term shifts in Ingman's supply arrangements, a key part of the deal as Ingman is one of Finland's major producers, while cementing Arla's dominance in the Nordic dairy
