UK Retailers Target Polish Pound
November 2006 | Industry NewsThe influx of Polish workers into the UK since Poland's accession to the EU in 2004 has pushed big retailers to target an ethnic community traditionally served by the independent sector. The search for the Polish pound by UK businesses is complicated by the lack of hard data on the swelling population of Poles in the country - estimates of their numbers range between 300,000 and 600,000. BMI estimates that 500,000 is the most likely number.
