Danone Faces Turkish Boycott Due To Political Controversy

French dairy giant Danone may be facing a boycott of its products in Turkey, following a political dispute between the Turkish and French governments. The controversy is surrounding a vote by the lower house of the French parliament which passed a bill making it a criminal offence to deny what is often called the 'Armenian genocide' of 1915. The debate over the fate of the Ottoman Armenians is often bitter and divisive and remains a taboo topic in Turkey.
