Farmers Demand Government Aid To Stave Off Debt

Lebanese farmers are pressuring the government to supply them with greater aid in order to deal with the consequences of this summer's war, which has devastated the country's agricultural sector. According to a report released by the UN' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the recent conflict in Lebanon cost the country's fisheries and forestry industry around US$280mn, leaving many farmers heavily indebted.
