S&N Drops Courage To Improve Lager Focus
January 2007 | Company Finance AlertThe UK's leading brewer Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has sold a majority stake in its 220-year-old Courage cask ale business to Wells & Young's Brewing Company in a deal worth an estimated GBP10mn. The acquisition marks Wells & Young's first purchase since its formation via the merger of breweries Charles Wells of Bedford and Young & Co's Brewery of London, while for S&N it is a clear signal of belief that its future lies in its international lager
