Meat Ban Likely To Continue
January 2007 | Trade AlertThe EU has announced that it will do everything possible to end a Russian ban on Polish meat products at a meeting to be held in Poland this week. The EU's Health and Consumer Protection Commissioner, Markos Kyprianou, has been in Poland in an effort to find a solution to the year-long ban, which has been colouring relations between Russia and the 27-member bloc. 'I believe we now have enough documents needed for the other side to lift the ban,' Kyprianou said at a news conference following a meeting with Polish Farm Minister Andrzej Lepper.
