Premier Plans New Launches After RHM Buy

December 2006 | Company News Alert

Premier Foods has acquired some of the UK's most iconic food brands, including Hovis, with its GBP1.2bn (US$2.37bn) takeover of larger competitor RHM. Providing the deal is not blocked by competition authorities, the tie-up will make Premier the largest food processing company in the UK. The combined company, with combined sales forecast at GBP2.6bn (US$5.14bn), will have commanding leadership in the UK market for bakery products, biscuits, sauces and cooking ingredients and executives say they will capitalise on existing brands to launch new products, such as Hovis-branded cereals.
