CEE Countries Start The Battle Over Bulge Early On
January 2007 | Industry NewsWhen it comes to food and drink industry trends, Western European countries tend to be the trend-setters, with their Eastern European counterparts following suit. However, when it comes to the battle against junk foods, and more specifically, their consumption by children, Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries are leading the way. Already, Russia and Latvia have taken the extreme steps of banning the sales of what have been deemed junk foods from state-run schools, while many Western European countries are contemplating doing the same, in what looks to be an emerging trend throughout Europe.
