Carlsberg Seeks Habeco Shares
February 2007 | Company Finance AlertDanish brewer Carlsberg has expressed hope that it will be chosen as the strategic foreign investor for Vietnamese state-owned brewery Hanoi Beer Company (Habeco), when the government decides to reduce its state in the firm to 76% in the near future. Some 10% of the brewer's shares are to be sold to a foreign partner, with a further 10% being made available through a public listing and 4% being offered to staff. BMI believes that Carlsberg's success in this endeavor will be crucial in determining whether it can offset the renewed assault on its market share by closest rival Asia
