February 2007 | Industry NewsThe EU is once again embroiled in a dispute over its appellation laws, this time over the true definition of vodka. Over the last year, Poland, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic states have all been insisting that only those spirits made from cereals, potatoes and sugar-beet molasses should be called vodka, while other member states, such as Hungary, Spain and the UK are arguing that there is no reason to change the current regulations, which allow vodka to be made from any agricultural product.
