Pressure Rising As US And South Korea Seek Beef Agreement

South Korea is steeling itself for intense pressure from the US concerning the former's treatment of US beef exports before the final round of free-trade talks between the two nations takes place. Although South Korea needs free-trade agreements with wealthy countries such as the US in order to further economic development, Seoul appears unwilling to back down on this sticking point. But is its reluctance hygiene-based, as has been suggested, or is it protectionism in disguise?
