Healthy Products Drive Domestic Growth For Danone
March 2007 | Company Finance AlertFor French food giant Danone 2006 was a good year, as net income from continuing operations for the full year grew by 15.8% to EUR1.19bn (US$1.56bn) thanks to strong performances across is various sub-sectors, with emerging markets continuing to bolster growth. Full year like-for-like sales were up 9.7% and net income from continuing operations of EUR1,194mn was up 15.8%. Fourth quarter results were particularly strong, recording an 11.5% growth on a like-for-like basis with stronger-than forecast performance of beverage innovation in China, and a good year-end in France driving this growth.
