Korean Tobacco Company Makes Major Turkish Investment
April 2007 | Company News AlertKT&G Corp., South Korea's largest tobacco and ginseng company, has made a move into the Turkish tobacco market, and begun construction on a production plant in south-western Turkey. The plant will be located in an industrial complex about 80km south-east of the Aegean city of Izmir and should be completed at some time next year, with a production capacity of two billion cigarettes a year. This represents an investment of KRW50bn (US$52.9mn), and is the company's first investment in the region.
