Danone Lands Chilean Base As Lat Am Importance Grows

French dairy major Danone has acquired a 70% stake in Chilean dairy producer Vialat for an undisclosed sum. Danone acquired the stake from Bethia Group, a diversified Chilean conglomerate for whom the sale will mark the end of its involvement in the consumer goods sector. For Danone the acquisition is an opportunity to greatly improve its presence and distribution capabilities in the high-potential Chilean dairy
