Mercator Makes Croatian Acquisition
May 2007 | Company News AlertSlovenia's leading retailer Mercator has acquired Croatian food retailer Presoflex in its bid to gain dominance in South East Europe's mass grocery retail (MGR) industry. This move will strengthen Mercator's foothold in the Croatian market, bringing its market share up from less than 4% to 6%. Mercator acquired 100% of Presoflex's 40-store network for an undisclosed sum. As Presoflex is an established brand in the country, Mercator has said that it would continue to preserve and develop it.
