Starbucks Reaches Agreement With Ethiopian Government In Trademark Deal
June 2007 | Industry NewsThe long-running dispute between American coffee giant Starbucks and the Ethiopian government has finally reached a conclusion. Following a lengthy legal dispute, the two parties have signed an agreement that will allow Starbucks to use and promote the Harrar, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe beans in markets where trademarks exists and also where it does not. Many in the industry have called this agreement a milestone in helping Ethiopian coffee farmer's receive a fairer price for their beans.
