S&N Warns Of H1 Profit Drop As Europe Continues To Trouble
July 2007 | Company News AlertBrewing major Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has cautioned shareholders to expect a fall in first half operating profit, as the business environment remains challenging in some of its most important European markets. S&N confirmed that it expects a second-half recovery and for full-year targets to be met. However, the figures may once again prick the attention of Danish major Carlsberg, which is reportedly considering bidding for S&N in order to protect itself via improved scale in the fast-consolidating global beer market.
