S&N Close To Establishing Local Production Presence
February 2008 | Company News AlertUK brewing major Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has received permission from Vietnam's Long An province to construct its first Vietnamese brewing facility in the region. S&N - alongside its 50:50 joint venture partner, the state-owned wine and tobacco company Vinataba - will invest US$75mn in the construction of the brewery, due to be operational in H209. S&N, like all multinational brewers, is eager to gain a foothold in the Vietnamese beer market which BMI expects to grow by 61% in volume terms to 2012.
