Nestlé Recalls Baby Formula
March 2008 | Company News AlertSwiss food giant Nestlé South Africa has announced a recall of its baby formula in South Africa, due to mineral levels in excess of health and safety standards. This was a voluntary recall of over 2,000 tins of NAN 2 baby formula in the Eastern and Western Cape. The company stressed that although the recalled formula contains increased volumes of iron, zinc and copper, these would not be life threatening, but could cause babies to experience constipation and irritation, saying that the recall was due to Nestlé's commitment to quality and consumer safety.
