Diageo and Heineken Announce Two Joint Ventures
March 2008 | Company News AlertDutch brewer Heineken and the UK's Diageo have agreed to form two joint ventures (JV) in the South African drinks market. Under the first agreements, Heineken and Diageo will build a brewery in the Gauteng province close to Johannesburg, with two possible sites already under consideration. This new facility, which will be called Supplyco, will have an initial capacity of 3mn hl, and will be 75% owned by Heineken and 25% by Diageo, producing Amstel, Guinness and Windhoek beers as well as other 'ready to drink' products. In the second investment, Heineken and Diageo will also partner with Namibia Breweries
