CBA and Aldi Confirm Expansion Plans

Two major retailers have announced expansion plans for the Hungarian mass grocery retail (MGR) market - one domestic and one international. After postponing market entry, which was initially planned for 2006, German discounter Aldi had previously announced that it planned on moving forward with market entry in 2008, and has now confirmed that it will open up to 40 discount stores under the Aldi banner by the end of this year. Meanwhile, domestic retailer CBA has announced its plans to open 16 new stores in 2008, with 10 of these openings scheduled for the first half of the year. While
