EBI's Profits Rise Despite Challenges

Efes Breweries International (EBI) has announced impressive full year results for 2007, as sales volumes grew 13.8% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 13.3mn hl in 2007. Thanks largely to local currency price increases in all of EBI's operating markets last year, net sales revenue grew by 30.9% y-o-y to reach US$836.2mn. These results are even more impressive in light of the rising cost pressures on all breweries, as commodity prices continue to soar.
