Merger Creates Regional Drinks Major
April 2008 | Company News AlertKofola Holding of the Czech Republic and Hoop of Poland have announced their merger, creating a regional drinks major under the name Kofola-Hoop Group, with a presence in five CEE markets. Kofola will hold a majority stake of 57% in the new company, which will originate in Poland and be traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and will have a turnover of US$402.5mn. The company has said that it is planning to utilize synergies of costs and income that will result from this merger to intensely develop trademarks with an international impact and could spend EUR57mn (US$89.9mn) on regional acquisitions,
