Shoprite Moving Ahead With Expansions

South African retailer Shoprite has announced that it has secured the construction sites for developing two supermarkets in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and has also secured land for its second supermarket in Lagos, Nigeria. Shoprite has been present in the Nigerian mass grocery retail (MGR) for a number of years, but these expansions represent its first entry into the Congolese market. Shoprite is Africa's largest retailer, with over 1,220 outlets, located mostly throughout Africa.
