Juan Valdez Expanding Internationally

Colombian coffee shop chain Juan Valdez has announced plans to open 17 stores in Ecuador in a joint venture with a local supermarket chain. This move mirrors its expansion into Chile, first announced in October 2007, where it has partnered with Chilean retailer Falabella to open 20 stores. Juan Valdez has also made moves into Spain and the US, and with these moves the firm has signalled that it has ambitions to become a major player in the coffee shop sector throughout Latin America and
