Zagreb Brewery Records Strong Foreign Growth

April 2008 | Company News Alert

Major Croatian brewer Zagreb Brewery has announced that its net profit for 2007 rose by a modest 2.9%, to HRK152.26mn (US$32.6mn). Like all brewers, the company also had to deal with rising operating costs, which were up 3.9% from the year before. However, a far more noteworthy increase was recorded in the company's foreign sales, which rose by 90% to HRK245.4mn (US$52.6mn), reflecting the rising demand in foreign markets for Croatian beer, compared to slumping domestic demand.
