All Signs Positive For Carrefour
May 2008 | Company News AlertFrench retailer Carrefour's profits in the Romanian market experienced a boost last year, as the company's local unit reported a net profit of EUR21.9mn (US$30mn) for 2007, up from EUR17.9mn (US$22.5mn) the year before. All signs were positive, as operating profit was up 33% year-on-year to EUR31.4mn (US$43mn), while net turnover and sales also rose. On the back of such strong results, the company announced its plans to open seven new hypermarkets in the country in 2008, as it shows its willingness to continue to invest in Romania and retain its position of the country's top hypermarket operator.
