Carrefour Lays Out Expansion Plans

French retailer Carrefour has outlined its ambitious expansion plans for the Turkish mass grocery retail (MGR) market. During its celebrations of 15 years of business in Turkey, the company announced that it is looking to double its TRY2mn (US$1.53mn) turnover in 2007 to TRY4mn (US$3.21mn) in the coming three years. Carrefour has been looking to increase its presence in the competitive and high-growth Turkish MGR market and is clearly willing to invest heavily in order to do so.
