Konti Looks East For Expansion Opportunities

Ukrainian confectionery company Konti is investing in a new logistics centre in a bid to increase its share in the lucrative Russian confectionery market. Konti is now looking to build a production and logistics complex in Kusrk, Russia, which is close to its current manufacturing facilities, and hopes to increase its share in the Russian candy market from 3% to 5.6% by 2010. The 52,000m² complex will come with a US$252.6mn price tag and is expected to be operational by the last quarter of 2008. This is the latest in a series of investments Konti has recently made as it
