Seafood Exports Strong, But Short Of Initial Targets
June 2008 | Industry NewsWith Vietnamese seafood exports forecast to reach US$4bn in 2008, they will fall some way short of the US$4.5bn target announced on the back of 2007's record export haul of US$3.7bn. Difficulties accessing capital and spiralling input costs have been blamed for the impending shortfall, but the figures have highlighted certain structural problems that must be addressed if the seafood industry is to meet its vast potential.
