Jamaican Ethanol Industry Looks Set For Boom

Brazilian biofuel firm Infinity Bio-Energy is expected to emerge as the new owner of Jamaica's state-owned sugar business after winning a public tender. The Sugar Company of Jamaica (SCJ) was put up for sale after amassing debts of around JMD16bn (US$220mn) and posting losses of JMD3.5bn (US$49mn) in the past two years.
