40% Milk Self-Sufficiency Plan Seemingly Ambitious
June 2008 | Industry NewsWith demand for dairy products soaring on the back of sustained economic and population growth, the Vietnamese government has called on the farming community to take action to improve milk self-sufficiency. Currently, the country's milk production industry meets only 20% of milk demand, leaving Vietnam with a US$350mn annual dairy import bill, which is climbing rapidly year-on-year.
