Anheuser-Busch Rejects Takeover Bid
June 2008 | Company News AlertUS Brewer Anheuser-Busch (A-B) has snubbed a takeover approach from InBev, claiming that the US$65 per share offer is too low. The bid represents a premium of around 30% on A-B's share price before rumours of a bid emerged ,and it will therefore be difficult for A-B's board to convince its shareholders that it can create more value by going it alone. InBev now looks set to launch a hostile bid and could appeal directly to shareholders to remove the incumbent
