Kaufland Invests In Logistics
August 2008 | Company News AlertSchwarz Group run hypermarket operator Kaufland has announced that it will invest over EUR50mn (US$74.4mn) to expand its logistics site Rakovski, in southern Bulgaria, which will serve as a stocking hub for all of Kaufland's stores in the country. This announcement coincided with the opening of the company's 12th store in Bulgaria. The latest Kaufland store is located in the city of Pazardjik and represents an investment of ERU10mn (US$14.9mn). As Kaufland has announced its goal of having hypermarkets present in all of the country's major cities, such investments into its logistics infrastructure will become increasingly necessary.
