Beer Shipments Slump As Operating Climate Toughens

Figures released by Japan's brewery association, the Brewers Association of Japan, have identified July's upturn in beer shipments as a one off, with August showing a reversion to the trend of market decline. After a 3.4% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in beer sales in July, August saw beer shipments slump 14.6% y-o-y.
