Waitrose Opens First International Outlet

Major British mass grocery retail (MGR) operator Waitrose has opened its first outlet outside the UK, with a new 55,000 square foot outlet in the Dubai Mall in the UAE. Waitrose plans open a second outlet, in the Dubai Marina Mall this December, through its licensing partnership with the UAE's Fine Fare Food Market. The retailer eventually plans to establish its chain of stores throughout the UAE, although it would not confirm store numbers or an opening schedule.
